We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with deep expertise in Playwright and quality assurance practices to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in automation testing, end-to-end application testing, and quality strategy execution in agile environments at scale. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright for end-to-end testing of web applications and RESTful services.
  • Define and execute comprehensive automation test strategies, focusing on functional, integration, contract, performance, and load testing.
  • Implement and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and the PageObject pattern.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI.
  • Perform API testing using Playwright’s API testing capabilities and implement request interception for mocking and stubbing.
  • Monitor code quality using tools like SonarQube and ensure adherence to security best practices.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and architecture teams to ensure scalable and reliable software systems.
  • Conduct performance testing using Gatling Cloud to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Promote software engineering practices such as Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Mentor team members, provide coaching, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality.
  • Document test strategies, processes, and results using Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in quality assurance, automation tools, and cloud technologies.

Required Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, with 3+ years of hands-on experience in Playwright and automation testing.
  • Programming Languages: TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Test Automation Framework: Playwright (including built-in assertions and API testing).
  • Framework Design: Proficiency in PageObject pattern.
  • Tools and Technologies:
    • Package Manager: npm
    • Version Control: Git
    • Linting: ESLint
    • Test Runner: Playwright Test Runner
    • Code Security: SonarQube
  • Experience with performance testing in Gatling Cloud.
  • Strong expertise in end-to-end application testing (RESTful services, front-end applications, and automation).
  • Deep understanding of automation test strategies, limitations, and testing lifecycle.
  • Practical experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI.
  • Familiarity with software engineering practices like BDD and TDD.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of social and ethical implications of software engineering (e.g., ACM Code of Ethics).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with additional cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with other testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Selenium) or performance testing tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic).
  • Experience with contract testing or service virtualization.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, AWS Certified Developer, or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to coach and train teams in quality assurance and automation practices.
