We are seeking a multi-skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. Core Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database software across various versions.
- Monitor and tune database performance to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to guarantee data integrity and availability.
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including reorganizations, index rebuilds, and disaster recovery testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize database queries and enhance application performance.
- Implement and enforce database security best practices to protect sensitive data.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry trends.
Required Technical Skills:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in database administration with Oracle databases.
- Expertise in Oracle database technologies across a range of versions.
- Proficient in database installation, configuration, and upgrading.
- Significant experience with database backup tools and methodologies.
- Configuration and management of database replication technologies, such as Oracle DataGuard.
- Experience with Oracle Exadata, particularly in performance tuning.
- Knowledge of clustering techniques, such as Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
- Strong understanding of database storage management, including Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
- Extensive experience in performance tuning using tools like Stats Pack and AWR.
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.
- Experience with patching and upgrading Oracle databases.
- Familiarity with managing workloads in Jira.
- Experience working with Oracle support processes.
- Strong understanding of database management concepts, including normalization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Familiarity with database security principles and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS cloud environments and managing databases in the cloud.
- Familiarity with monitoring and tuning tools beyond Stats Pack and AWR.
- Knowledge of additional Oracle tools or features.
- Experience with test-driven database administration practices.
- Relevant certifications, such as Oracle Certified Professional or AWS Certifications.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms or database systems.
- Understanding of DevOps practices related to database management.
